Four Realistic, Effective, & Simple Ways To Be Successful in 2022

Can we all just first and foremost embrace another year of life! 2022 feels very much like another year of growth, success, peace, love, joy, and happiness. But, what’s next, we can live the same life over and over, or we can go out and create the life we desire. There are no rules when it comes to this thing called life because let’s face it, we’re all living different lives and have different goals and dreams we want to accomplish. How are we going to achieve those goals/dreams is up to us to figure out. I can’t even begin to recall how much time I spent dreaming and contemplating on living the life I desire. The life I was living was not the life I wanted for the rest of my life. I spent four years miserable and just hoping on the day I finally get the life I wanted. Let’s just say that day never came because I didn’t do anything to make it happen, but daydream. As we enter into a new year everyone’s number one question, is “How to be successful?” Honestly, if anyone asked me this question four years ago, my answer would be “I don’t know because I am looking for the answer myself.” Today, however, if you ask me that question, my answer would be:

  • Stop Making Excuses
  • Go After Goals That Align With Your Current Reality
  • Stop Doubting Yourself & Your Potential
  • Stop Living In The Past
A quick mind shift can change your whole outlook on life itself. You just have to start believing and appreciating the life you have now. You can and will be successful don’t ever doubt that.

Stop Making Excuses

How many times have we made excuses for why this or that? I’ll answer to dam many! Often times we can get so wrapped up in the world around us that we forget we have the power to change our circumstances. Four years ago my life was miserable. Every day I woke up I was tired, unmotivated, sad, mad, and just wanted the day to be over with before it even begin. I was living the same life over and over. Once 2019 rolled around I told myself no more, I couldn’t keep living like I was. The reason why my life was so miserable was because I made it that way. I was constantly thinking about what could go wrong, and each time that thought formed in my head, something went wrong. I was in a never-ending war with myself and the only way out was to take accountability for everything I was doing wrong to make my life miserable. I needed to understand that constantly planting fear and doubts in my mind about myself kept me standing still. If I wanted to get my life back on track, I needed to start appreciating the good/bad. I needed to stop making excuses for why this or that and acknowledge the fact that excuses leave you unfilled. The moment we pause and start analyzing the excuses we make, we can see that those excuses don’t even make sense. I realize it was so easy to put the blame on the world and other people for my misfortunes, but it was me who needed to be blamed. I was constantly making excuses every day just so I had a reason not to do something. Sometimes we have to understand that life will never be perfect. Everything that we want we can have, but first we have to stop with the excuses. Excuses keep you standing still and feed on your fear and doubts. Don’t let your excuses be the reason why you fail this year.

Go After Goals That Align With Your Current Reality

We all desire to be a millionaire someday and it can happen, but first, we have to be realistic about how we’re going to get there. Setting realistic goals that align with your current reality is a great start. I’ll be the first to admit when I set goals for myself I like to think it’s go big or go home. My goals are attainable, but just not in the present moment. See the thing about setting goals is you have to truly believe you can achieve those goals and it has to align with where you are now in your life. I wanted to make $10,000 before I even made $1000. I wanted an 850 credit score without even making plans to pay off my debt. I wanted a car with a car note that was $900+ every month, higher than my rent. Do you see where I am going here? Those goals aren’t attainable with where I am now in my life. “If you want something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.” I say that to say if you want to be a millionaire someday, then you need to start with earning a six-figure income. If you want to live debt-free, then you need to make a plan to pay off your debt and etc. If you want to be successful in 2022, then you have to get honest with yourself and start setting goals that are realistic and that align with your current reality. Don’t dive in head first, start small and work your way up towards bigger goals.

Stop Doubting Yourself & Your Potential

Why is it that we are so hard on ourselves? Why do we constantly tear ourselves down when things don’t go our way? I’ll tell you why because we’re constantly giving into fear. When we let fear control our actions we begin to doubt ourselves and our abilities. I’ll be the first to admit I doubted myself one too many times. I would constantly give in to my biggest fears because it was easier to give up than to stick around for the long haul. I was so afraid of failing that it kept me standing in the same place I was over and over. I was reliving the same life for four years all because I kept doubting myself and my potential. The more we give in to doubts and fear the more we snatch opportunities away from ourselves without even knowing it. “Growth and comfort do not coexist.” You cannot grow by staying in your comfort zone. Success requires you to step outside your comfort zone so you can see the endless possibilities that are right in front of you. Stop doubting yourself and start believing in yourself. We have so many unique qualities about ourselves and it would be such a shame if we let them die out of fear. 2022 is here, you either make it a great year or let the year make you. You see what I did there.

Stop Living in The Past

I know we all love to dwell on the past, but it’s gone and ain’t never coming back. The thing about constantly reliving your past is you’ll never move on because you keep opening those same chapters of your life that you can’t get back. If you want to have a successful year then you have to put your past to rest and live in the present time. I know how hard it is to move on from things in your past especially if it caused you pain. I spent most of my life dwelling on my past and it brought nothing but headaches, bitterness, and anger. I was reminding myself every day of events that happened where I got the short end of the stick. It felt like I was trapping myself in a never-ending nightmare over and over again. It wasn’t until I got my wake-up call that I then realize it was time for me to move on. It was time for me to close those chapters in my life that had already been closed. It was time for me to stop torturing myself and let the chips fall where they may. It was time for me to see that nothing can send me back to my past and constantly dwelling on it won’t change what has happened. We have to understand that our past is not who we are anymore. Apart of living is growing. All we can do is use our past as a learning experience. Our past doesn’t define us because there’s so much more to us than past mistakes. Move on and make new memories that you can be proud of.

In Conclusion

If you want 2022 to be your year then you have to stop doing things that can hinder your growth. Everyone can be successful so long as you believe you can and you work to make it happen. Every successful person has gotten where they are now by simply never giving up. It’s so easy to give up but harder to keep going. Don’t stop until you have the life that you want and that you are proud of. Always remember where you are now is not where you are going to be for the rest of your life. That is if you don’t do anything to change your circumstances.
